I lived in Ft Wayne,Indiana 1965-70;my 1st husband was a television technician and he did service in this WESTOVER CASTLE during that time.I never did see the castle but he said the owner (a very private person) told him that he built it a replica of his ancestoral home in England---Westover Castle It was furnished with a complete set of armour at the entryway. The owner was very proud of his heritage.
It is located on the south side of Ft Wayne at the end of Westover Road a short street off of Old Mill Road. Very few people in this area know of it's existance.
Later, I received E-Mail that said:
I have never been in the home at the end of Westover Road but I am familliar with it. It sits at the corner of Hartman Road and Westover and faces Foster Park. It is a beautiful rambling huge estate that does look as if it should be in England. The house and grounds occupy an entire city block and it is breath taking.

Now that I have seen a photo, this is not what I think of as a castle, I will probably
remove it from this webpage someday.

Here’s a couple updated photos of Westover Castle, more commonly known as the McMillen Mansion. 1345 Westover Rd.
I agree that it isn’t so much a castle as just a large mansion. The McMillen family was a very prominent name in this city and has a large park and public golf course named after them. It was probably one of the largest homes in the area for years until Dick Freeland built his mansion. I’ve toured through the McMillen Mansion and it’s still quite a house.
