I have been searching for a castle in Michigan. Don't know the name, but it was very close (within a mile) from Jackson Community College. In the city of Jackson (in Jackson County). Any info would be very helpful.

You had requested information on the castle that you have listed as "Unknown Castle" in Jackson, Michigan. I can't help you a lot, other than to confirm that it is less than a mile from the Jackson Community College, and was built by a local family about 2 or 3 years ago. I believe it is a 2 story, square, solid brick ,castle looking home. I know they did run some arcticles about it in the Jackson Citizen Patriot (our local newspaper) 2 or 3 years ago, as it was being completed. I seem to remember they turned the roof into an outdoor patio area, or something like that.

Yes, there is a castle in Jackson that has been recently built, it is on the corner of Kimmel Rd. and Hague. It is up the road about a quarter mile and across the the road from the college, I have been to this castle and it is quite an impressive feat. It is one man's dream come true, it was built by a mason that drew his own plan's and constructed it himself for his own home, it is complete with a gargoyle on top and a double sided fireplace inside that has protruding stones going all the way to the ceiling in the living room so that it can be climbed.
The other castle on Hague Road is newly built by a man who is a mason. A family lives there and it was built to resemble a castle. There was an article about it in the Jackson Citizen Patriot a few years back when it was first built.

I live in Jackson county. I do not know of an old castle. So if an old one exists I have no clue. But I do know that someone built a new house that looks like a castle in the South Jackson area / Vandercook Lake area. I have been past it. I forget the name of the road. I know where, just forget the road name at the moment. The one I saw looks like a private residence.

This castle is on Hague Rd...across the street from Jackson Community College. It is a new castle, been there about 8 years...it's not deep in the woods...it's right on a corner lot where two streets intersect...I will try to get a better picture of it. The castle is actually in Jackson County, but in the town of Vandercook. The castle can be found by simply driving down Hague Rd...drive on Hague past the college and the castle is on your left at the next road. We also have a small little castle here in Michigan Center...it has been used as a beauty salon, real estate offices and it is now a tattoo shop...will also take pictures of that...that is right across the street from our local school.

I just read some of the emails about the unknown castle near Jackson Community College. There is a new home - which resembles a castle. It is located at the corner of Hague and Kimmel Roads east of the JCC campus. That home - while certainly unique - is NOT the same as the stone tower which rises above the landscape on Draper Road. The stone tower is the six-story building explained in great detail by Ms. Weibel - built by the great concert violinist Max Helmer in the 1920s.

My name is Carla and I just came across your site about castles. The one that is located in Vandercook Lake, Michigan at the corner of Hague Ave and Kimmel Street was built by family friends of mine. It was built by Mike and Sharron Midena and they have 2 children, David and Maria. I met them around my first birthday so I have known them for about 20 years. The castle has several elevators also, but the last time I was there they weren't finished yet.
Does anyone know if this castle has a name?
