CASTLE RANCH ESTATE

I received E-Mail that said:

There is another castle that has also come to my attention that is not on your list. It is in Lancaster, CA and is also for sale.

Castle information:

The Castle is an architectural marvel modeled after an Irish Castle. John Shea, the developer of Hancock Park, originally built the Castle Ranch in 1924 for his wife. There are 8BR, 7.5BA, 7 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, and a number of unique common rooms. The medieval castle motif is replicated in the 2,500 sf appx stable house. On the fenced and gated property, leading up to the Castle is a lovely stone bridge that spans the 10-acre appx lake (presently silted). The 20' high stone dam was engineered specifically to control the lake. On the property is a FAA Approved Aircraft Landing Runway Strip. Next to the Castle, the historic Native Indian paintings and petroglyphs are a known California aboriginal settlement. There are also natural springs.

Located in Los Angeles county, the incredible stone castle mansion has commanding views of the Antelope Valley, the California Poppy Reserve, and the majestic Tehachappi Mountains. Roy Rogers rented this estate to train Trigger and other horses. Bat Masterson (ie. Gene Barry) used the estate to film "The Prince of California Highwayman, Tiburcio Vasquez".
